St John's Green Team!

St John's School's Green Team began with 12 members... we now have 32 members!
We want to help our school to be a greener place to work and learn.

The Green Team has 3 targets:

                          Switch off lights
                   
                              Reduce litter

            Create a growing area in the courtyards

                 An energy saving school:
            We have  put posters and signs all around the school
                  to remind others to switch off the lights.

                       A tidy school:
     We have a regular litter -pick in the playground, 3 times a week

                      A Green school:
   We have tidied the greenhouse and planted over 150 spring bulbs for some          
                                               spring colour!
   We have got 4 bird feeders filled weekly and fat balls and bird treats.


                 What next for the Green Team?
The birds love coming to our bird feeders - we are going to get a bird table for
them too!

Home grown vegetables taste best! The Green Team are going to try their hand at
growing some vegetables! Watch this space....
